Forthcoming SFC Workshops

The Scottish Fiscal Commission is holding two workshops in March, the first on our economic and income tax forecasts, and the second on our Land and Buildings Transaction Tax and Non-Domestic Rates forecasts. All those with an interest in how we produce our forecasts are welcome to attend.

Unpacking our economic and income tax forecasts

Monday 12 March 2018 from 14:00 to 16:30

Why is Scotland’s economy forecast to grow more slowly than the rest of the UK? Will Scotland’s new Income Tax rates make people behave differently?

Anyone who is interested in how the Scottish Fiscal Commission - Scotland’s independent forecasters - produces Scotland’s official five year economic and fiscal forecasts is invited to this afternoon workshop.

Looking specifically at economic growth and also Income Tax, the Commissioners and the SFC team will summarise our latest papers (publication date: March 7) and answer questions on the challenging art of economic and fiscal forecasting. Light refreshments will be available.
