Commission publishes costing to support Carer’s Allowance Supplement Bill

We have forecast the cost of the Carer’s Allowance Supplement (Scotland) Bill following its introduction in the Scottish Parliament today.
This additional payment of £231.40 will be made in December to people already receiving Carer’s Allowance in Scotland.
We estimate 91,000 people will receive the extra payment at a cost of £21million in 2021-22.

The Commission provides independent forecasts to assist the Scottish Parliament and the public in understanding the Scottish Government’s policy.
